Jamal's foray into comedy began when he worked as a sound technician at the Ontario Improv. It was there that his managers and coworkers recognized his natural comedic talent and encouraged him to try his hand at stand-up comedy. Their words were clear: "You’re funnier than the guy up there!" Jamal's innate likability, animated personality, and hilarious nature soon became evident on stage.
